Wanda Herren

Wanda Herren, 90, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024. She was born on July 15, 1933, to proud parents Loyd and Rosa Hornsby in College Corner, Ohio. Wanda was a dedicated worker throughout her life, known for her exceptional pie-making skills. She spent many years working at the family restaurant, where her pies were a beloved staple. Later, she embarked on a 30-year career with Bell Telephone before joining Bel-Tel Federal Credit Union for another 15 years, where she continued to leave a positive impact on those around her. In 25 years of marriage to Robert Herren, Wanda found love and companionship. She took pride in her country being a Marine Corp wife. Together, they raised three daughters: Rebecca Gail, Sandra Lynn, and Judith Ann. Family was the center of Wanda's world, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Wanda leaves behind a vast and loving family, including her daughter Judith Kelly and sister Lois (Gary) Mattix, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a devoted grandmother to Tracy (Mike), Kelly (John), Angie, Robert, Jacqueline (Mike), and Ben (Alycia), all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Wanda was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Meghan, Mariah, Jacob, Ryan, Ashlyn, Shelby (Zack), Mikaela, Madison, Sara, McKenzie, Abigail, Dylan, and River. Additionally, she had the pleasure of welcoming four great-great-grandchildren: Arik, Charisma, Ivory and Sophia. In addition to her family, Wanda's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created. Her passion for baking pies and her unwavering devotion to her family will forever be remembered. Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved sister Frida and brother Don. Along with two of her daughters Rebecca Gail, Sandra Lynn. Though they have departed this world, their memories remain etched in the hearts of those who loved them dearly. A celebration of Wanda's life will be held at Osceola Memory Gardens on Wednesday May 29, 2024, from 12-2, followed by a gravesite service. Wanda Herren touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those she cherished most.
