Shelia G. LaiFang

Mrs. Sheila Grace LaiFang was born November 17, 1933 to Clarence Hay and Eugenia Charles. She was born in the island of Trinidad & Tobago and moved to the United States in 1968. Sheila lived in New York for 24 years before moving to Kissimmee, Florida, where she lived for 19 wonderful years. She loved being a member and part of the Solid Rock Church of God family for many years. After a year of living through pancreatic cancer, Sheila Grace LaiFang, departed this life at 12:20 a.m. on August 04, 2011. Sheila LaiFang was a petite lady with a strong will and determination of a lioness. She usually did not allow anyone or anything to prevent her from doing what she wanted to do in life. She was always ready to try new adventures at any age. For example, she posed in feathers and beads for the Osceola County Council on Aging 2006 Calendar, she did horseback riding last year with friends and even hula hooped 2 months ago with her granddaughter, Alanna. Other interests like dancing, especially to her native calypso and soca music, quilting, doing her crafts and playing cards with her sister, brother-in-law and friends was her joy. Sheila was a seamstress by trade. She had a God given talent for creating or replicating anything from her own imagery. It was never too difficult for her to admire an outfit and reproduce it for herself. It gave her so much joy to make and share her talented creations with her family, friends and even strangers. Even to the very end she was at home busy making her butterfly magnets to give away to anyone who would accept them. She was often described by those who knew her as a sweet little lady. Grandma Sheila, as referred to by her family, was always willing and made herself available whenever her children was in need of her time and help, for which they are forever thankful and grateful for her love, works and deeds. Sheila leaves to cherish her memory: her 4 loving children, Ian LaiFang of Ranson, West Virginia; Meshiel Christian of Alpharetta, Georgia; Keston LaiFang of Alpharetta, Georgia; Marlon LaiFang of Tampa, Florida; son-in-law, Steven; daughters-in-laws, Marilyn, Teresa and Daphne; grandchildren, Korey, Candace, Janelle, Alanna, Ashton, N’Dea, Marlon Jr., Keston, Jr., Langston, Jazzmyn, Colby and Christian; 2 sisters, Theckla George Sharpe and Olive Currin; brother-in-law, Willie Currin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
