Miguel Angel Erazo Viera

Miguel was a kind and compassionate person who put others before himself, but you might not have realized that at first. He always saw the world in black and white for himself but when it came to others he held no biases, no judgments, and always presented himself as their number one supporter in whatever they wanted to achieve. Coming out of Carolina, Puerto Rico and then claiming Verona, Italy as his very close second home, he was a man of the world, but not one you would’ve expected. From that tiny island, he joined the Army and spent the next few decades traveling the world for work and fun. He never forgot where he grew up and the lessons he learned along the way and always opened himself up to understanding and fully embracing the customs of other places. He always had the mentality to appreciate everything he experienced now because it was something he never imagined growing up back then. Miguel helped lead so many people to reach their goals and to go beyond. He was a strong leader, mentor, and trusted friend to everyone he met. He was passionate about transforming physical, professional, and personal weaknesses into strengths. His selfless attitude toward his family, friends, and country will continue to be an example and inspiration to all who knew him and remember him. Throughout his 27 years of distinguished military service, he never lost himself and continued to guide and support everyone he knew, even beyond his retirement from the Army. Of course, he wasn’t only ever the tough, relentless, hardass that you saw at first glance, he knew how to have fun and go wild too, more than most even. He spent all his time looking for new adventures and going for the next level of thrills; from starting out boxing and bodybuilding to bowling and golf, then scuba diving and skiing, to his absolute favourite, skydiving. It was so much his favourite in fact that he convinced his wife to let them throw their only child out of an aeroplane at just 12 years old and for him to get his solo license at 16. There weren’t many things that gave him a bigger smile than jumping together with his son, especially when they jumped at their favourite dropzone in Hassfurt, Germany. He recently, in the past few years, had even taken up driving formula series cars while traveling to and from work through Dubai. He never stayed quiet, always had something to say, and loved to have a great time spending it with the people he cared about. Miguel dedicated his life to the Army, to his family and friends, and to finding every bit of joy he could all across the world. Miguel is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lorenza, his son, Jonathan, his mother, Carmen, and his brother, Ricky. He is also survived by his other family, all the brothers and sisters he served with during his time in the Army. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Kissimmee, Florida. Private cremation services will be held at a later date.
