Jeffrey Neal Spoon

With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeff Spoon, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend. On Thursday, February 8, 2024, Jeff gracefully transitioned from this earthly realm to heaven, where he was welcomed into the loving embrace of the Lord. His departure leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those privileged enough to know him. Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, Christina, his loving children, Baylee and Zachary, and his mother, Yvonne. Jeff was born on January 12, 1971, in Louisville, KY, but early in his life, his family moved to Tulsa, OK. He spent his childhood there, and graduated from Broken Arrow High School. In his early adulthood, he pursued vocational training at Vol-Tech, forging lifelong friendships during his time at the rink, attending car shows, and even bringing home trophies for his class of truck. His family moved to Florida where he began working in the tradeshow industry, a field of work he remained in and loved for his entire career of 27 years. During this time he met his wife, Christina, and from their first date, they knew it couldn’t be anyone else. Jeff was a man of unwavering passion, particularly for football. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish held a special place in his heart since he was a child, but with his love for the game, he found joy in every touchdown and victory, often sharing those special moments with anyone within earshot of the big screen! Beyond the football field, Jeff loved to fish. He wasn’t particular about the type of fishing; whether it was casting from the bank of his home pond (lovingly dubbed “Lake Spoon”) for bass, or venturing out into the vast expanse of the ocean. His love for sports and the outdoors was matched only by his passion for cars - specifically, fast cars. This lifelong passion for cars, ignited in his youth, was passed down as a cherished rite of passage to his son, Zachary. He often joked that he was a top-three driver of everyone, anywhere. With a huge heart full of love for his fellow man, Jeff spent a great amount of time dedicated to helping others. He spent many years as President of the Board for The Tournament of Hope, a nonprofit organization with humble beginnings as a fundraiser for his father, whose health had begun to fail. A joint venture with his wife, Jeff tirelessly gathered support and sponsors while Christina ran the day to day operations. Over time, it grew larger and provided financial assistance to those in need within the tradeshow industry community, and created a lasting impact on countless lives. While he was a man of many passions, Jeff was defined most by his deep and unending love for his family. As a devoted husband and father, he poured his heart into creating a home filled with love, warmth, and shared experiences. He enjoyed taking his family on adventures, not just vacations. Whether it was horseback riding, camping through the Florida State Parks, Christmas in New York, or attempting to snow ski in the Carolinas, it was always important to Jeff that he was able to give his family the experiences of everything it was possible for life to offer them. These family adventures, along with gatherings at home, holidays, and just simple moments spent together playing cards and board games were his life's highlights. He leaves behind a family forever grateful for the immense love he shared with them. Many will remember Jeff as a quiet man – though his family and his close friends might disagree with that assessment, recalling a life full of his teasing, and their eyerolls and reluctant laughter – but that outward quiet belied a deep well of strength, and volumes of love. A fearless and fierce protector of the women in his life, he watched over the three women he cherished the most, his mother, Yvonne, his wife, Christina, and his daughter, Baylee. He lived every day with unwavering faith and love for the Lord. May the understanding that he is now in the presence of God bring solace to those who mourn, and may his spirit endure in the hearts of all who were touched by his love. The funeral service to celebrate Jeff's life will occur at Focal Point Church on February 15, 2024.
