George R. Celi

George R. Celi entered eternal life unexpectantly on July 3, 2022, at the age of 56. He was born to the late Robert D. Celi and Jean Celi. George received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. degree in Engineering Management. His illustrious career began in the aerospace industry and then transitioned to the energy industry, working at Pratt and Whitney then Siemens Energy, Inc. where he rose to Project Director and remained until his passing. George was a humble soul whose numerous accomplishments did not define him. In life there are very few people who make a lasting imprint on your heart, but George was one of those people. He was an extraordinary husband and father to his fur babies. George was a man among men, a “Secret Warrior”. Everyone whose path he crossed was touched by his kind and gentle soul. His devout Catholic faith led him on a path to walk by Faith not by Sight. He selflessly gave to others in need and was a mentor to many. George lived life to the fullest and never let any obstacle discourage him. From his passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to traveling the world with his wife Debra he experienced life eagerly and without fear. His deep and profound connection with nature inspired his passion for hiking and biking where he truly found a sense of peace and deepened his spiritual relationship with God. George was a man of great character whose honesty, humor, and positivity made everyone around him a better person. Those who knew him loved him and his influence upon others is a flame that will burn brightly forever. George is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Debra, and fur baby Olive. In addition to George’s deceased parents, Robert and Jean Celi, he was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Gramma and Grump, and Taylor and Daisy. He is also survived by his loving family: Sisters Susan Celi Haag (Robert D. Haag) and Lisa J. Celi; Half-brothers Robert Celi, James Celi, Charles Celi, John Celi; Mother-in-Law Victoria Hathcock; Sisters-in-law Deanna Bartels (William E. Bartels) and Andrea Hathcock (Ed Mackey); Nieces Nicole Haag, Samantha Vetner, and Sara Bartels; Nephews Michael Labato and Eric Rivera; Great Nieces Evelyn Lobato and Cynthia Rivera; Great Nephews Dylon Martens, Jayce Labato, and Derek Rivera. Cherished by his second family at Gracie Barra, Siemens Energy and countless friends throughout the world. In life we loved you dearly in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place no one else will ever fill. My beloved George, I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven… A funeral Mass will be held for George at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 700 Brown Chapel Rd., St Cloud, FL on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 11:00 am.
