Douglas Richard Rush

Douglas Richard Rush, Born on the 5th of April 1943, passed away on the 26th of September 2020 at the age of 77 years old. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He later lived and retired in Kissimmee, Florida. Douglas Richard Rush’s professional career included senior leadership roles in Operations Management and High Volume Sales in the flooring industry, where he started and grew several companies. He had an extensive collection of history books and was our beloved history buff. Passionate and proud, seldom a conversation did not somehow circle back to a time in place in our history. A giant bear with the softest middle and biggest heart. He loved animals and would stop often to escort one across the street. He loved working with his hands both in the home and in his profession, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed a good battle of wits and was known to often ruffle feathers in deep conversations. He had a sharp and playful sense of humor, a warm inviting smile and a contagious laugh. He often visited the opera and loved traveling with his wife to historical cities. His love of food and wine took him as far as Italy and were some of his fondest memories. He often bantered with his children on all topics and was always there for them, as family was the most important thing to him. He was a wonderful, loving father and husband and will be greatly missed. Douglas Richard Rush volunteered and served in the United States Army, 1967-1970. He was sent to Vietnam for several combat tours and was promoted to the rank of SSG before being honorably discharged. SSG Rush’s military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Douglas Richard Rush is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife of 37 years, Mary Ellen Rush. His five children, Douglas M. Rush, Kimberly Corvi, Heather Rademacher, Nicole Rush and Natasha Rush. His ten Grandchildren, Brittany Rush, John Rush, Ashley Corvi, Jimmy Corvi, Corey Corvi, Aubrey Wolfe, Kadin Wolfe, Kayla Rademacher, Dylan Rademacher and Colin Rademacher.
