Daniel Jones

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Daniel R. Jones announces his passing on August 20, 2025, at the age of 51. Dan passed away peacefully with his devoted bride of 22 years by his side. Dan was born on October 23, 1973, to Richard A. Jones and Sari C. (Chlebos) Jones in Chicago, IL. The joy he brought to others throughout his life was evident from the start. Smiles and laughter followed wherever Dan went. After graduating from Schaumburg High School in Schaumburg, IL in 1991, he went on to pursue one of his great passions—political science—at Illinois State University (ISU) in Normal, IL, eventually earning a Masters degree in the field. Dan did work in politics for a short time, but primarily pursued this passion as a hobby. He ultimately enjoyed a long career in Corporate Strategy with W. W. Grainger, Inc. A proud Chicago Cubs fan, Dan and his future bride-to-be attended their first Cubs game together on Sunday, May 6, 2001 at Wrigley Field. Although the Los Angeles Dodgers bested the Cubs 5-0 that day, Dan would tell anyone that he was the real winner. He went on to marry his soul mate and the light of his life the following year. If you knew Dan, you know that he never met a stranger. He genuinely loved people, their stories, and creating meaningful connections and friendships. He was dedicated to making the people in his life feel loved and cherished. It wouldn’t be at all uncommon for Dan to call or text you with a random memory that brought you to his mind that day. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him. In addition to his loving parents and beautiful bride, Dan will always be surrounded by the love of his friends and family—both those who are here and those who have gone before—including his stepmother, Karen Jones; siblings, Sharyl (Jones) Wojciechowski (Keith); Amy Caple (Kurt Aufmann); Logan Caple (Kalee Genis); and Michael Marchialette (Deborah Vick Harrison)—and his extended family of caring grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. During his life, Dan also had very special relationships with his beloved great-aunt, Susan Skorzak ("Auntie”), as well as his in-laws, who embraced him into their family so beautifully. All are welcome to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held from 4 to 8 PM (ET) on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, Funeral Homes, and Crematory, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL. The funeral mass is also open to the public and will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM (ET) at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1050 Celebration Ave, Kissimmee, FL. Entombment to follow at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, Funeral Homes, and Crematory, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL.
