Christopher Patrick Smith, III

Mr. Christopher Patrick Smith, III, 54, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer in his home on Saturday, August 13th, 2011. Christopher was born in New York City and grew up in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Christopher P. and Marion (Ryan) Smith. He married his high school sweetheart, Sheila Garner, July 24, 1976 and were together for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman and also served as a Tech Sargeant in the Army totaling 30 years of military service. His dedication and selfless acts allowed millions the freedoms that he liked and cherished. He worked in the Hilton Walt Disney World Village for approximately 18 years and ended his career as Director of Safety and Security. He proudly served his church community of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church by volunteering with may church functions and services. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Security Council of the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association. He was a adoring husband, father, grandfather and dedicated family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila; his mother, Marion (Ryan) Smith; daughter, Melanie S. Ault and husband Michael of Kissimmee, FL; three sons: Christopher P. Smith, IV and wife Stephanie of Windermere, FL; Charlie G. Smith and wife Cristy of Atlanta, GA; and Charles G. Smith of Kissimmee; He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Steven, Zacharia, Korrie, Ashley, Kacie, Christopher V, Luke, and Matthew; two sisters, Deborah A. Kosior and husband James of East Rutherford, NJ; Annemarie Frascella and husband Frank of Wanaque, NJ; two brothers, Kevin M. Smith and wife Tammy of Elmwood Park, NJ; and Timothy J. Smith of Little Ferry, NJ; The family will receive friends on Monday and Tuesday, August 15th & 16th, 2011 from 4-8pm at Osceola Memory Gardens funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Kissimmee at 10am on Wednesday, August 17th, with Father Timothy LeBeau officiating.
