Carmen Ramirez

On the morning of February 22, 2022, at the age of 83, Carmen Ramirez passed from this world to meet her Lord and Creator surrounded by her family. Carmen was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. She was the youngest of Jose and Adela’s 12 children. As a young woman she was civically active and interested in political discourse; it was at a political rally that she met the young man who was to be her future husband. In 1965, she married Clemente Ramirez; whom she loved unconditionally everyday of her life. Shortly after getting marrying Carmen and Clemente set out to start their family in their new home country, the United States of America. They settled in New York and welcomed three boys. Carmen was a dedicated mother and wife. Her true passion was her family, and she raised her children with loving kindness and devotion. She enjoyed attending her kids’ sports activities, band exhibitions, school dances, and driving her children, their friends and cousins everywhere they needed to go. She and Clemente loved packing the car or jumping on a plane with Javier, Jose, and Alex to discover and learn about the world and its many cultures. Dominican Republic, Canada, Mexico, Jerusalem, Rome, and Florida. In 2002, Carmen’s prayers for a daughter were finally answered when Jose married the love of his life, Pearl. Shortly after moving to Kissimmee, Florida, Carmen’s world flourished with her new role as a doting Abuelita to her beloved grandchildren. Joseph, Siena, Gabriel & Isabel were the pride and joy of her life. Carmen’s faith was paramount in her life which she never hesitated to share. As an obedient and loving servant of God, she was an active member of the Legion of Mary at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and devout parishioner at Holy Redeemer. She cared deeply about supporting children with special needs and the poor. She always thought of others and always had a kind word or a prayer for anyone and all who needed it. She was an inspiration to so many people and touched so many hearts. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Clemente; her three sons, Javier, Joe, and Alex; daughter in law, Pearl; grandchildren, Joseph, Siena, Gabriel, and Isabel; godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
