Brandan W. Kent

Brandan Willard Kent (June 15, 1966-September 3, 2024) Brandan Kent, 58, of St. Cloud, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, leaving behind a beautiful wife and family, and an endless host of friends. He was born in Onaway, Michigan and raised in nearby Atlanta to Angeline and Willard, both of whom preceded him in death. Before he was a husband or a father himself, Brandan was Angie and Willard’s son, and faithful brother to Brenda, Belinda, and Barbara. He has numerous nieces and nephews who will forever miss their Uncle Brandan. Brandan moved to metro Detroit to pursue greater career possibilities, became a long-standing member of Central Free Will Baptist Church in Royal Oak, and then won the heart of Dawn, nee Mehl, whom he married in 1992. The young couple welcomed their first daughter, Alexis (Derek) Christian, in 1994, and less than three years later welcomed Molly (Tyler) Shipka. Shortly after moving to Kissimmee, Florida for a better job opportunity, their son Andrew was born in 2000. The family settled in and built a wonderful life together. Brandan’s devotion to his family was unquestioned, and only his love for Jesus Christ was greater. Wherever Brandan lived, he committed himself to his church and was a walking example of God’s good works. He was generous to a fault, and kind-hearted to everyone he met. If you needed a hug, he gave you one. If you needed some advice, he had plenty to offer. If you needed assistance of any kind, Brandan was the one to call. To his delight, his family has continued to grow. By way of Alexis and Derek, Brandan was the extremely proud Grandpa of Carter and Hudson, and less than a year ago, he was blessed with a granddaughter, Tillie Mae, born to Molly and Tyler. The three grandchildren brought to Brandan a new energy and purpose. Brandan took great pleasure in golf, touring the country on his BMW motorcycle, Mountain Dew, and an entertaining movie or riveting mystery novel. His Snapchats were epic, and his woodwork was crafted with the same care and concern he offered his loved ones and strangers alike. So many will miss his laughter and tenderness, his friendship and love, his steadfastness and loyalty. He is reluctantly released to join those who preceded in the Kingdom of Heaven while he waits to welcome those he leaves behind into his warm embrace once again. Viewing will be held at South Orlando Baptist Church, 11513 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32387 on Saturday, September 7 from 4PM-7PM with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Rick Steele immediately following.
