Alicia Pray

Alicia Frances Pray passed away peacefully in Kissimmee, Florida, on May 30, 2023, surrounded by her son Quentin and daughter-in-law Noelyn-. Alicia (Lee) was born July 25, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Ralph and Natalie Amato. When she was three, her mother remarried to Herbert Colburn. Alicia and her family then relocated to a farm in Lebanon, Maine, raising 6,000 chickens. The family farm eventually turned into a horse stock farm and harness racing facility. Lee and her sister spent afternoons after school picking-up eggs and cleaning horse stalls on the weekends. Alicia attended school in Lebanon and graduated from Sanford High School in 1963. She then attended Fannie Farmer Baking School in Boston, after which she worked as a pastry chef for the Cliff House. In 1965, she met and married Donald Pray. Throughout the 70’s, Don was an active military member. Alicia spent time stationed with Don in Hawaii, Iran, Taiwan, New York, and Maine. Over the years, Lee enjoyed being a mother to their son Quentin, and as a homemaker for the family. Later in life Lee became a snowbird, spending winters in Florida, and summers in Maine. While in Lebanon, she acted as the town librarian for some time. She was instrumental in relocating the library from the Lebanon Academy to the old Town Hall. Lee was also an active member of the Lebanon Historical Society. Lee enjoyed reading, crocheting, and all her pet dogs. Alicia was passionate about genealogy; for her family, as well as that of the town of Lebanon. Most of all, Lee adored spending time with her son Quentin and grandson Leopold. Although Alicia struggled with MS for many years, she never let it overcome her wit and humor. Alicia will be remembered for her beautiful smile, faith, strength and determination, and lover for her family. Lee’s bubbly, yet bashful personality will be recalled fondly by those who knew her well. Alicia was predeceased by her parents, her brother Albert Colburn, her husband Donald; and her grandson Leopold Blemke-Pray, with whom she is now united. Alicia is survived by her son Quentin and his wife Noelyn Pray; her sister Christine (John) Bozak; niece Jennifer Bozak, nephews John and Brian Bozak; grand-nieces Autumn and Tiger Lily Goldenberg; good friend and cousin Grace French; and countless extended family members whom Lee loved very much. A private service at the Springvale Veterans Cemetery will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Alicia’s name to a Multiple Sclerosis charity, the Lebanon Maine Historical Society, or another charitable organization of your choice.
