Stella Mae Rutherford

July 28, 1934 - September 10, 2021

Stella Mae Rutherford, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021. Stella was born in Lake City, Tennessee on July 28, 1934 to the late William and Irene Wills joining her two older brothers, William and Fred. She was the wife of Charles Roy Rutherford and they shared 64 years of marriage together. Stella grew up in the Baptist Church in Tennessee. Stella graduated from Lake City High School and after graduation married Charles (Charlie) Rutherford in 1957. In life she was a much beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend to all. Stella loved her family and friends and was active in their lives with a generous heart. She was always cooking or helping with the needs of her friends, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She spent many days in the carpool line after school picking up her children and eventually their children and so on and making sure they were safe and fed by the time their parents arrived from work. Stella is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Roy Rutherford; children, Tim and his wife Lou, Corkey and his wife Diane; grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Sarah, Rachel and her husband Fernando, Cody and his wife Chelsea, Christie and her husband Claus, and Melissa and her husband Michael; great grandchildren, Colin, Anna, Mila, and Madison. She is preceded in death by her parents and both brothers. A Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Osceola Memory Gardens, Saint Cloud Chapel, 2000 13th Street, Saint Cloud, Florida 34769. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, 2021 starting at 2:00pm at Osceola Memory Gardens, Saint Cloud Chapel, 2000 13th Street, Saint Cloud, Florida 34769 Interment immediately following the funeral service at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, Florida 34744. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Russell Home for Atypical Children, 510 Holden Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32839 at 407-855-8063 or Cornerstone Hospice to help build a free-standing Hospice House by contacting Carol Felder at 407-514-8204 or email at [email protected]
