Peter James Tutor

Peter James Tutor, 63, of Saint Cloud, Florida, passed away Thursday, December 12th, 2013. Peter was born in Syracuse, New York on June 7, 1950, the son of the late James and Helen (McCarthy) Tutor. He will be sadly and lovingly missed by his family, yet fondly remembered by the legacy he has left. Simplicity was a beloved trait of Pete as he didn’t care for the exotic lifestyles. He was a family man that loved his family dearly. He loved to spend as much time with them as he could. He was a man of many trades who loved history and antiques. Pete loved to collect and restore old furniture, and to “wheel and deal.” Pete was a custom stone fabricator who has shed his remarkable talents and intuitions into the homes of many. Pete loved going to gun shows and was an avid member of the NRA. He spent a lot of time buying, and selling and collecting firearms. Pete had a knack for making treasures out of other folks “junk.” He had an eye for creativity that speaks volumes through his work. He was a true craftsman. When Pete wasn’t working, he did enjoy spending time at the beach. Pete was a generous man and carried on this trait to the end as he was an organ donor. He was a man of honor and integrity. He often said that the “measure of a man is not his wealth but his word.” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church School 122 W Sproule Ave, Kissimmee, FL 34741. Peter is survived by his loving wife Deborah J. (Lane) Tutor of Saint Cloud; three daughters, Jessica, wife of Rodney McDonald of Saint Cloud, Katherine Tutor of Saint Cloud; and Lesley, wife of Kevin Thompson of Magnolia, KY; two sons, John Tutor of Saint Cloud, and James Tutor also of Saint Cloud, and 9 grandchildren: Candice, Abbie, Caylin, Kaylee, Skyler, Carolina, Jackson, Emma, and Rylee. Peter is also survived by a sister, Caron, wife of Reidy Williams of Geneva, FL. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 18th at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, Saint Cloud from 12-1 pm with a service to be held at 1 pm.
