Daniel W. Hart, age 70, of Kissimmee, Florida, formerly of Geneseo, New York, passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2021. Dan started his career in railroad management working for the Dansville and Mt. Morris Railroad, which his family owned. He spent over 30 years at Genesee and Wyoming Railroad. He served as Chairman of the American Association of Railroads Revenue Systems Working Committee from 2001-2002. In retirement in sunny Florida, he was a bike riding, dragon boating, travel and fine wine enthusiast. He and his wife, Kathy, traveled extensively throughout Europe, Alaska and the Caribbean. Dan spent several years as a member of the Geneseo Kiwanis organization, serving as its president from 1998-1999. He was also active in his Solivita community in Kissimmee. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Dahl, who he called the love of his life, his beloved children, Laura (Christopher) Kreiley of Dansville, NY and Jeremy (Karrie) Hart of Canandaigua, NY; his twin brother David (Beverly) Hart of Fairport, NY, his sisters Beth (David) Dixon of Avon, NY, and Joan Hart (John Houck) of Dansville, NY. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Robert and Ruth Hart. He was the proud grandfather of Aidan, Zackary and Jacob Kreiley and Mason and Colin Hart. He will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law, Patricia Dahl, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brian and Susan Dahl, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A memorial service for Dan will be held in the Spring of 2022 in Geneseo, New York.
