Carmen L Ramirez

Carmen Luz Ramirez, 62, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 8:51am peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born August 8, 1959 in Manhattan, NY to her father who is deceased Efrain Espinet and her mother who is still living Eva Maldonado. She is survived by her only daughter Jennifer Ramirez, and her grandsons Carlos Pagan & Jaiden Pagan, who were her ultimate pride and joy. Also surviving are her siblings Marie Espinet, Rico Espinet, Frankie Espinet, and Miriam Espinet. Along with those siblings are surviving nieces and nephews and several cousins. Carmen was a proud mother and grandmother to her two grandsons who she cared for in their early years. In her final days, she spoke about how blessed she was that she was able to dedicate the time to watch them and teach them at home with her instead of them going to daycare. It was the one thing she felt so honored to have done in her life. Her passion was creating a loving home where family could congregate, come to rest and share joy and laughter together. She took a lot of pride in her plants and garden. These things brought her the most joy and satisfaction in her life. She loved music, loved dancing Salsa and spending time with her family & close friends. Her Puerto Rican roots were very important to her. She honored her heritage and lived her culture to the best of her abilities. She enjoyed cosmetology in her earlier years. She was able to complete her cosmetology license and practice doing hair and nails for her friends and family. She also had a passion for interior decorating. She was able to get her certificate in this field just as another skill set under her belt. She always maintained an organized home and took pride in making her home cozy and welcoming. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She decorated her home every year as long as she could and it was always so spectacular. Her friendships were solid, some lasting over 40 years; she was loved by her peers and created some really loyal connections throughout the years. Ones that are no longer called friends, but are family. She built a beautiful life not only of accomplishments, but of tender relationships and connections that will forever be etched in our memories. She leaves this earth with a legacy of unconditional love, but remains in our hearts forever & ever.
