W. James (Jim) Chesser

W. James ("Jim") Chesser heard the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant", on February 2nd, 2013. He was born to Everett and Alice Chesser on August 19th, 1944. He married Sandy Lotridge on March 27th, 1966. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his children: Andrew, Stephen (Karen), Stephanie (Colby) and Jodie (Oscar). He was known as "Papa" to: Austin, Ashlynn, Maximillian and Reagan. His resounding love for his family was evident by anyone who knew him. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda and Mary (Elvis) as well many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Jim's steadfast faith and love for the Lord was apparent from the moment you met him. He served the Lord in the capacity of Minister for over 35 years, ministering to congregations in Michigan, Florida and Ohio. The positive impact of his preaching the gospel to many was his legacy. Several of those he baptized are now ministers, missionaries and teachers. His heart has always been dedicated to teaching, which he had the honor of pursuing at Florida Christian College as an Associate Professor of Bible since 2004. His love of teaching kept him in the classroom until the day before he passed away. His passion for rmissions has always been strong, including being a forwarding agent for Mauricio Missions for over 30 years. He looked forward to each year to heading up a trip to Mexico to put roofs on houses. In the years he's led the trip; over 500 people have joined him on mission trips. His past time enjoyment included golf, attending sporting events, watching the Food Network, and traveling all over the world. The viewing will take place at Osceola Memory Gardens (Poinciana), 3175 Pleasant Hill Rd., Kissimmee on Thursday, February 7th from 4pm - 8pm. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Poinciana Christian Church, 3181 Pleasant Hill Rd., Kissimmee on Friday, February 8th at 10:00am.
