Virginia M. Lewis

Virginia (Ginny) Morton Lewis, born June 11, 1932 and passed peacefully July 27th 2016 after prolonged illness with Parkinson's disease.She was married 61 years to Fred Thomas Lewis, Jr. before he passed in 2011. She is survived by son Fred Thomas Lewis, III (Bud), and wife Betsy, daughter, Barbara Louanne Lewis Gabel, and husband Paul, and son Jeffrey Lee Lewis and wife Bettyann. He is also survived by grandchildren, Shawn Michael Gabel, Christopher Thomas Gabel, Alyse Marie Lewis Gonyea, and great grandchildren, Aiden Rae Gabel, Stephanie Christina Gabel, Hailey Marie Gabel, Owen Christopher Gabel, Ethan Joseph Gonyea, and Elizabeth (Ella) Lynn Gonyea. Ginny lived a full life serving others. She was born in Orlando, Florida and returned to her roots after retirement with the love of her life, Tom, to live in St. Cloud, Florida. Ginny was a bus driver for Montessouri school in Upper Darby, PA in her middle parenting years and after working in other school kitchens in Normal, Illinois, she became the kitchen manager for Chiddix Junior High from 1973 - 1988. She sang in the Choir at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield, PA and in the United Calvary Methodist Church in Bloomington, Illinois before moving to Florida where she was an active member and sang for years in the choir at First United Methodist Church in St Cloud. She was a worship leader, Methodist Women's Circle leader and attended Bible study with friends. Ginny also was a member of Church Women United and St. Cloud Women's club and volunteered at the St. Cloud Museum. Ginny also joined the travel club and Senior Saints. In her spare time she cooked for her church members and those less fortunate on Sundays at Elmer's Kitchen. She was always saving for missions and buying food to donate for "bags of love" so others would not go hungry. In 2013 she was coronated the senior queen of St. Cloud all the while managing the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, 1000 Ohio Avenue, St. Cloud, Florida with the Rev. Edwin Santos officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be mad to Elmer's Kitchen C/O the First United Methodist Church at (407) 892-3128.
