Vincent E. Tulloch

Mr. Vincent Edward Tulloch, age 86, went home to be with the Lord after months of failing health on Thursday morning, April 23,2020 at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Vincent was born on December 30, 1933 in Jamaica West Indies, a son of the late James and Elizabeth Tulloch and was one of five children. Vincent was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Veta Tulloch. He was father to three sons; Leroy Alexander Tulloch, Michael Tulloch and John Christopher Tulloch: four daughters, Gloria Louise Isabella Tulloch, Yvette May Paulina Tulloch, Rose Marie Patricia MacLawhorn and Andria Elizabeth Cameron. Vincent was very proud of his 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. If you were able to be present when he gazed at his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s faces, the pure joy radiating from him would grip your heart. Vincent wanted nothing more than for them to have a wonderful life. He was fondly remembered and will sadly be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. On January 19, 1958, Vincent married the love of his life, Veta Elizabeth Richards. Veta’s quiet yet powerful, prayerful and spiritual support for her husband Vincent, enabled him to do all that he did. He took a step of faith and immigrated to the United States, arriving in Brooklyn, New York in 1964 to pursue his dream of becoming an architect. Vincent was held in high esteem at the architectural firm, Sverdrup and Parcel in Manhattan, New York where he worked until retiring in 1995. His accomplishments included architectural design, building construction, bridges, and he was proud to be one of the first to design a major railroad system on Long Island, New York. Vincent created the plans and would oversee the actual execution of the project. Vincent’s work attire was always immaculate from his suit and tie down to his polished shoes and his attaché case. He always walked with a sense of purpose, with confidence and with his head held high. He was quite a dapper gentleman! Vincent enjoyed watching wrestling as a past time on Saturday nights and would often act out each fight as if he was in the ring himself. He also enjoyed Western movies, watching documentaries and he would always gather the family around the TV to watch the “Wild Kingdom”, “Creature Feature“ and “The Wonderful World of Disney. He would play his harmonica after a busy day at work and enjoyed listening to jazz music of various saxophone artist. Vincent would sometimes explore painting and drawing being the draftsman that he was. He enjoyed planting vegetables and beautiful flowers with his lovely wife, Veta. He would gladly offer to help friends and neighbors with his service as a handyman often engaging in meaningful conversation with them. His family always looked forward to his delicious cooking and baking of yummy pizzas, breads and oh...that Jamaican sweet potato pudding! Vincent spend his life as a very private, yet hard-working man. He was never idle; often working by himself planning new projects to do around the house. He was very successful at electrical work, plumbing and had a natural eye for carpentry work as well. He built beautiful vanities and most of the furniture in our home including our living room set, dining room sets and all of our bedroom sets as well. One of Vincent’s most proud and personal accomplishment as a family provider was designing and building our first home on Long Island, New York and also his beautiful retirement home in Kissimmee, Florida. Vincent along with his dedicated wife Veta, were definitely instrumental in BUILDING the foundational qualities in our loving family today. Vincent’s memories will FOREVER be in all our hearts.
