Sharon Yarbrough

Sharon Yarbrough Strong, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend departed this life on March 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Born on June 26, 1958, she was the daughter of Reba Jean Smith and Jessie Murray, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her beloved brother, Micheal Anthony Smith. Sharon shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Booby Strong and her cherished son, Corey Yarbrough Sr. along with her beloved daughter-in-law, Rachel D. Yarbrough. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Corey Yarbrough Jr., Shyanne Yarbrough, and Jacorey Yarbrough, as well as her adopted niece, Tangela Yarbrough. She was also surrounded by a host of sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom treasured the warmth and kindness she brought into their lives. Among her closest friends were Flora Sanders, Dot Peck, Cathy Strong, and Robert McCoy, who stood by her side through life’s many journeys. A proud graduate of Miami Carol City Senior High, Sharon pursued higher education at Troy State University, where she earned her Associate’s degree. In her younger years, she graced the modeling world before dedicating herself to a fulfilling career in public service. She worked as the Director of Probation for Osceola, contributed to the Guardian and Litem Program, owned and managed a Christian music store, and later joined Court Administration, where she retired as a Court Operations Analyst. Sharon also had a distinguished military career, serving in the United States Army for ten years. Her commitment and excellence were recognized with numerous accolades, including the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal with Four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with One Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Marksman Qualification Badge. Her service was a testament to her unwavering discipline, perseverance, and dedication to her county. Her life was a reflection of resilience, compassion, and grace. She was the foundation of her family and an inspiration to all who knew her. While her presence will be deeply missed, the love and wisdom she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Sharon’s journey was extraordinary, and her spirit will forever shine in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
