Samuel Jonathan Barber

Samuel “Sam” Jonathan Barber lost his battle with Muscular Dystrophy on Monday, August 1, 2022, and died from heart complications. Sam was a son and brother, a friend and ally, but above all else, he was a warrior. He lived in a body that was too weak for his spirit, and now his spirit can run free. He was cherished by his family, and there is not one day he will not be thought of by the people who loved him. Sam is the 7th generation of an Osceola County pioneer family. He was born at Humana hospital on June 10, 1993 in Kissimmee, Florida and spent 29 years residing in Saint Cloud. He graduated from Saint Cloud High School in 2011, and he attended Valencia College in hopes of becoming a teacher. He had a quick witted personality, he was highly intelligent, and he was caring and considerate of others. He enjoyed playing musical instruments, attending concerts, video gaming, and watching endless sporting events. He was family centric and enjoyed attending family gatherings and vacationing with relatives. A message for our beloved Sam: Even though there are many more things to share, nothing can adequately convey the blessing you were in our lives, and the immense joy you gave us. A wonderful person you were, and the world has gotten a little smaller without you. Until we meet again, dear son, rest easy and be at peace. Sam is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Pete Barber. He leaves to cherish his memory; his father, Rick Barber; his mother, Cinda Barber; his brother, James Daugherty (Ashley); his nephews, Liam and Jonas; his paternal grandmother, Jean Barber; his maternal grandmother, Darlene Beckwith; and a multitude of other relatives and friends. A service celebrating Sam’s life will be held at Osceola Memory Gardens | 2000 13th Street in Saint Cloud, Florida 34769. Pastor Jim Callen officiating. The service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, with a receiving hour from 11am to 12pm and service to follow. A gathering of family and friends following the service at Eastern Avenue Baptist Church | 1001 Eastern Avenue in Saint Cloud, Florida 34769. A man of Great Character whose judgment, humor, and friendly spirit brought out the finest in those around him. The influence of his life upon others is a flame that will burn brightly forever.
