Robert Errol Bonadie

Robert Errol Bonadie (Robbie as he was lovingly known) was born on March 16, 1962 on the island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, to Ormond and Doris Bonadie. He migrated at the age of eight with his siblings, to join his parents in Brooklyn, New York. He became a member of Trinity C.M.E. Church, sang in the Young Adult Choir and attended Sunday school. After graduating high school, PVT Robert E. Bonadie served honorably in the military in the early 1980’s as a (92Y) Supply Specialist. With an eagerness to pursue higher education he attained an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences from Clinton Community College. With a zest for knowledge, he furthered his higher education by graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Saint John’s University. Robert was an intelligent and intellectual person and would spout out random facts of trivia to educate others. Robert held several positions in his employment history. He worked as a Public Health Advisor for New York City Department of Health, Counselor for Interfaith Medical Center and Project Renewal. His dedication and hard work lead him to receive several work distinctions including Employee of the Year for the New York City Department of Health. Robert was a loving, caring family man and was naturally funny. He kept his family and friends amused at his many anecdotes. He always had a joke to tell and a crowd around him that listened. Despite Robert’s health challenges, he had an uplifting spirit and always had a positive word to share. Robert loved to listen and dance to music, and didn’t hesitate to share his latest moves. He was a sports enthusiast and defended his teams to the bitter end. Robert invited the Lord into his life many years ago and constantly shared the message of salvation with others. On March 15, 2016, Robert was called to rest and is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Karima Bonadie, his children Natasha Bonadie and Tiani (Ti-Ti) Bonadie, his mother Doris Bonadie, his brother Claudius Forbes, sister Beverley Forbes-Diaby, brother Trevor Bonadie, and baby sister Daune Bonadie Connors and her husband Terence Connors, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. As Robbie would always say to us, “I love you more than cook food”. We will always and forever, and forever, and forever love and miss him. Rest in Peace Robbie
