Rick Butler, 57 Funeral services celebrating the life of Rick Butler will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19th 2018 at Osceola Memory Gardens, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Rd., Kissimmee. Rev. Tim Wilder will officiate. The family requests that visitation be observed from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Fred “Rick” Richard Butler, 57, of Kissimmee, Fla., passed away at home surrounded by his family on Dec. 17, 2018. Rick was born June 24, 1961 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Fred Richard Sr. and Joanne Butler. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1979 and went on to marry Sonya Conley on June 16, 1984. Rick was truly a man for all seasons. He worked for the Osceola County School District as a senior project manager for many years before launching a recreational fishing charter venture. Following his dream led Rick to becoming a full-time professional fishing guide on Lake Toho and other surrounding Central Florida lakes. He was an avid outdoorsman, a skilled fisherman and a member of the Clark Bay Hunt Club. Rick spent most of his weekends on the water fishing or in the woods hunting. When Rick wasn’t in the great outdoors, he was in the kitchen or at the grill. A gourmand at heart, Rick loved participating in (and winning) barbecue championships and making memorable meals for his family. He also enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour novels, woodworking and traveling with his family. Rick, ever the talented craftsman and generous heart, was always there to help friends with carpentry and plumbing projects. Rick is survived by Sonya, his wife of 34 years, his son Clayton Butler (Amelia Langston Butler), his uncle Allan Patterson, his mother-in-law June Conley Hemphill of Kissimmee, Fla., his mother Joanne Brechtel, his sister Laurie Watts, his nephew Scotty Watts Jr., his niece Robin Beauboeuf, his aunts Martha Gordon and Patsy Stewart of Pineville, La., his uncle C.J. Butler Jr. of Frisco, Texas, and many loving extended family members. Rick was a loving husband, father and friend who will be dearly missed.
