Renne Paul

Renee was born on November 11, 1953, and died on March 29, 2025. She was the third child of Bernice and Leonard Darlington. Renee lived in New York City for most of her life and moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 2019. She was a sweet and feisty woman. She graduated from Erasmus High School and worked in several companies doing administrative work until her retirement in 2009. Renee started out as a typist and could type over 120 wpm. She loved typing but with the changing of the times from typewriter to computers, she learned how to work with computers and was always learning new programs to make herself marketable. She challenged herself to learn Wang Word processing systems. She succeeded and developed a mastery of it and was asked by her company to teach it to her coworkers. Renee agreed and played a key role in training the staff and allowed the company to remain competitive. Unfortunately, the company relocated to upstate New York and Renee decided to remain in the city where she was closer to family and friends. In her personal life, Renee was passionate about roller skating and she spent many years perfecting her skill. She was a staunch supporter of artistic roller-skating being included in the Olympics and would have loved to compete if it were ever included. She was graceful and beautiful to watch when she skated. She was fully invested in her hobby and had custom made skates. She was a regular at the Empire Roller skating rink in Brooklyn until its closing. In her 20s Renee was introduced to Joseph Paul from India. They fell in love and Joe proposed. Renee refused to accept Joe’s marriage proposal until she met his parents and was assured that they would accept her. They flew to India to meet his parents and were welcomed with open arms. Renee and Joe were married in India in 1975. They settled in Brooklyn, NY and built a life together. They embarked on several businesses from custom cake making to jewelry. They traveled extensively throughout India buying unique jewelry pieces to sell within the U.S. until his death in January 2019. Renee is preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Darlington, Father, Leonard Darlington and husband Joseph Paul. She leaves behind her sisters, Saundra Rodriguez, Candida Fraser, Antoinette Guadeloupe, Saray Mobley and Una Darlington and a myriad of niece, nephews and cousins.
