Peter Roche passed away at the age of 67 at Winter Haven hospital on 1/1/2023 with his wife, Mary by his side. He is survived by his wife Mary Roche, mother Matilde, “Frances” Zimmerman, sister Fanny Roche, Brother Mark Zimmerman and his 4 daughters, Michelle, Amber, Tierra and Gabriela. He also is survived by his family that adopted him like a son, father-in-law, Ramon L Roman, mother-in-law, Maria Roman, sister-in-law, Michelle Bauer, brother-in-law, William Bauer and nephews Sean and Nicholas Bauer. Peter was born in Manhattan, New York on 5/21/1955 and raised in the Bronx. He was proud of his Puerto Rican roots. He had a very special bond with his friends/brothers on Decatur Street. Meeting every 10 years at the “stoop” with them to celebrate their childhood. Their name for him was always “crazy Pete” because of daredevil ways and how he made them laugh. Peter was an excellent bowler with the potential to become a professional bowler and he loved playing basketball. He was an athletic and active man. He loved music, rock-n-roll, smooth jazz and Motown. Music was his go-to when he wanted to relax. He loved going to the beach with Mary and having “day trips” throughout Florida on weekends. Gardening was another outlet for him that gave him a lot of satisfaction and pride. In 2011 he met Mary in Kissimmee Florida and married on 11/30/2013. They settled in Winter Haven, Florida. They were inseparable and lived a beautiful life together. Their Love Story was strong and their bond was unbreakable. They were always there for each other till his final day. Peter had numerous friends who were there for him always and considered him a brother and whom he loved dearly. He was so easy to love by all. He loved his family and his wife’s family. His smile was contagious, and his laughter was heartwarming. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh. Even during his struggle with lung Cancer, he would make the doctors and nurses at Moffitt Cancer center laugh and smile. He went through his treatment always saying, “I Got This!” he stayed strong during his treatment. Please consider a donation in his name to the Hope Lodge in Tampa Florida as this was a facility that helped facilitate room and board while he received radiation therapy. There will be a celebration of life on 1/8/2023 at the Osceola Memory Gardens at 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
