Paul H. Daniels

ÿ Paul H. Daniels, age 75, died peacefully July 8, 2008 at his home in Kissimmee, Florida, surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 20, 1932 in Eastport, Long Island, N.Y. He was a veteran of the United States Army and aÿretired PoliceÿSergeantÿfrom the Suffolk County, N.Y.ÿPolice Department.Paul's distinguished career with the police department included many yearsÿas Head of Firearms Training for the Police Academy.ÿÿHe was a champion marksman, winning many prestigious awardsÿincluding seven-time New York State Pistol champion, and NationalÿPolice Champion. He was a lifetime memberÿof the National Rifle Association and served several years on their Board of Directors.ÿ ÿ After retiring from the police department, Paul moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1979 where he owned and operated All Worlds Golf Driving Range until 1983.ÿ ÿ Always active, Paul joined the Kissimmee Elks Lodge in 1997.ÿ He first served as Secretary and then as Exalted Ruler,ÿand was Editor of the Lodges' monthly newsletter "The Antlers" for many years, finishing his final issue in June. He was honored as Officer of the Year in 2001-2002, and Elk of the Year in 2005-2006. ÿ His greatest accomplishment was receiving the honor of husband, father, and "Papa". Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louise, son, Paul (Kay) of Atlanta, GA,ÿ son, Allan (Robin)ÿof Windermere, FL,ÿdaughter, Patricia, of Kissimmee, FL,ÿand daughter Carol (John) Hamilton, of Kissimmee, FL.ÿÿ He is also survived by a grandson, Harrison and a granddaughter, Perry of Atlanta, GA andÿmany nieces and nephews, including niece Irene Braden of Atlanta, GA who joined the rest of the family at his side during his final days.Funeral services for Paul H. Daniels will be held Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11 AM with a Lodge of Sorrow by Kissimmee Elks Lodge #1873, followed by a Memorial Service by Rev. Dr. Scott Baker officiating. Services will be held atÿOsceola Memory GardensÿCemetery and Funeral Home, 1717 OId Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
