Oniel Jose Antommarchi-Perez

Oniel J. Antommarchi-Perez, Sr., a Vietnam Veteran and hero, died unexpectedly on July 19th, 2018 at the age of 68 during a tragic home fire in his Kissimmee, Florida residence. Oniel is survived by his wife, Maritza of 40 years marriage; his children, Oniel J. Antommarchi II and Meliza L. Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Adriel J. Rodriguez and Adan L. Rodriguez; his son-in-law he considered a son, Jose L. Rodriguez; and his siblings, Cyndi Velasquez, Luisito Velasquez and Nancy Pacheco. He is predeceased by his father, Oniel D. Antommarchi and his mother, Crimilda Perez; and by his grandmother who raised him, Tomasa Emmanueli. Oniel was born in New York on March 1st, 1950 to Oniel D. Antommarchi and Crimilda Perez. He graduated from Escuela Papa Juan XXIII in 1968. Following graduation from high school, he was drafted into the Vietnam war which was the beginning of his military duty. He was honorably discharged in 1973 with a service-connected disability and retired for the remainder of his life. On January 18, 1978, he fell in love and married Maritza Cortes in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. On November 27th, 1978 and June 10th, 1980 respectively, he welcomed his two beautiful “miracle” children who were the reason for his living. Oniel was a devoted father, doting husband, dedicated son and a true lover of music, art and life. He originally studied to become an architect demonstrating his life-long love for art. His love for music was evident during his younger years playing in a band and learning several instruments including guitar and percussion. He loved to sing and play music for himself and others. He loved to collect coins and other collectibles but mostly loved interacting with others, sharing with others and caring for others. He loved dogs having several in his lifetime including Taina, Trinity and Angel. Always compassionate, he found ways to make someone’s day which is why he was considered a wonderful neighbor and friend. He was a curious mind who loved to read and learn about all cultures, people and religions and believed in a higher power. During the later years, he was devoted to his two grandchildren, Adriel and Adan whom he loved to spend time with watching movies and going to the pool. He will be deeply missed by everyone who met and knew him and saw the special man he was. He was an incredible human being with so many beautiful characteristics and will never be forgotten. Services for Oniel will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road in Kissimmee. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Thursday, July 26th also at the Funeral Home.
