Nanci Veblen Jones

Nanci gained her angel wings on June 16, 2012 after a brave battle with lung cancer. Her passing follows a wonderful life full of love & enjoyment. She was a devoted mother to her children Kylee, 27, & Nick, 25, & an adoring wife to her lovebuggy Allan L. Jones who predeceased her in December 2004. She grew up & raised her family in Washington State before making Orlando, Florida her home in 2007. She loved working in her gardens, playing in the waves at the beach, & spending time with her children. One of Nanci’s favorite pastimes was visiting the Walt Disney Resorts & attended every Disney Halloween & Christmas party since 2007 with her daughter. The two of them also took pleasure in “resort hopping” among the many Disney Resorts to enjoy the many pools & ambiances. Mother & daughter were, & will forever be, best friends. Nanci enjoyed long nightly talks with her son about life, business, & lessons she wanted to pass on with her legacy. She was a wise woman who had experienced much in her life, from raising a family & running a business, to dealing with a terminal illness & fighting through it when the odds were against her. This April marked her 5 yr. anniversary of her stage 4 Cancer diagnosis, a milestone only 1% of patients reach. She was a little lady, but her heart & will to carry on was that of a giant. Nanci was also a much-loved member in her community of Celebration, Florida. She frequented the Artisan Park pool where she kept up her signature tan. An avid member of the Celebrators, Nanci enjoyed the monthly dinner/cocktail parties with her many friends. She was loved by all & will be missed greatly, but never forgotten…. We will be holding a celebration of her life on September 8, 2012 at 2 PM. The service will be located at: St. Thomas Episcopal Church 8398 Northeast 12th Street Medina, WA 98039 There will be a reception held directly afterward at David McCallum’s house: 3001 Webster Point Rd NE Seattle, WA 98105 (In Laurelhurst by U Village) We are also holding a memorial for her in Celebration FL at the Artisan Park Club House in October; once its cold enough up north to bring all her snowbird friends back down to lovely Florida.
