Michael Anthony Jimenez

Michael Anthony Jimenez, age 50, went to be eternally with the Lord on June 5, 2023. He was born on October 23, 1972, in Manhattan, New York. Michael was preceded by his father, Vidal Jimenez and his stepfather, Rafael "Ray" Lugones. Michael is survived by his son, Alex Jimenez, his daughter, Emily Jimenez, his mother, Ada Luz Lugones, his sister, Melanie O'Brien, his brother, Erick Lugones, his stepsiblings: Yamile Rivera, Rafael Lugones Jr, Marivel Lugones, & Barbara Lugones Perez. He has many nieces and nephews, many of those he was named Godfather, he had stepchildren that he loved dearly, and he adopted the nickname "Abu" from his stepdaughter's children. Michael moved to Florida with his family in 1984 where he attended Gateway High School. Michael married Laura Vega on May 24, 1997 and they raised their two children in Saint Cloud, Florida. Michael made sure to pass on his love of music to his children. He loved a variety of artists such as: Prince, Freddie Mercury, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell, Ozzy Osborne, Kenny Rogers, and Dr. Dre to name a few. He would send his family his favorite musical performances and enjoyed learning about guitars and rockstar memorabilia. He also shared his love of star wars and other classic films with his children. Alex and Emily were Michael's proudest achievement and he always put 150% into supporting their extracurriculars. Michael's favorite teams come from New York. He rooted for the Yankees and the Jets, the latter he had tattooed on his leg for support. Michael would make sure you know that he earned 2 master's degrees: one in Education and one in Business Administration. He was an ESE teacher for 21 years before his journey as a truck driver all over the country. He was passionate about spreading awareness for autism, he loved to debate politics and theology, he was quick on his feet and blessed his family with his sense of humor. In his final days, Michael treated his mother to a vacation in the Philippines, where they were surrounded by loved ones, most importantly, his fiancé, Leeann Santos. She made him smile in a way nobody else did. Michael's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Osceola Memory Gardens on old Boggy Creek Road.
