Mervin Peter Jack

Mervin Peter Jack, Jr. was born to Mervin Peter Jack, Sr. and Marlene Jack on March 18, 1983 in New York. He was the oldest of three children. He spent most of his life in Long Island New York and graduated from Uniondale High School in May 2000. After graduation, Peter, as he was affectionately known, worked for Red Lobster Restaurant, the hospitality industry for various hotels and for Verizon Wireless in New York. Peter had a heart of gold. He was kindhearted and was always willing to assist whenever the need arises. He was very respectful and would always lend a hand to those in need, especially the elderly. He loved children very much and children were drawn to him because of his patience with them. Peter had a great love for food and was known as the omelet maker. Everyone enjoyed eating his omelets and he took great delight in making them especially for his father. At the time of his passing, Peter worked in hospitality at Wyndham Hotel, but his dream was to become an electrician and he was actively pursuing his dream. He loved sports especially basketball. He attended the Church of God of East New York for 19 years. He was an active member of the children’s choir, youth choir and youth ministry. The family relocated to Florida in 2002 and he attended the Solid Rock Church of God where he became an active member of the youth ministry. He returned to New York but came back to Florida in 2015 and has been an active member of the Solid Rock Church since then. Peter loved his family and friends but especially enjoyed spending time and having fun with his nieces and nephews. He loved to entertain them by taking them to the parks or to movies and would get down to their age level when interacting with them. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter and humor that usually lit up any room when he entered. We, his family and friends, are all saddened that his life was tragically cut short, but we are comforted at the thought of having the opportunity to see him again, as promised in the gospel of John 11:25, by the one whom he loved so much, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Peter is pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents Leopold and Lillian Reynolds and his paternal grandfather Claudius Jack. He is survived by his parents Marlene and Mervin Jack, Sr., brothers Gary Jack (Jasmin), Jordan Jack; his adopted sister Eboni Kelly (Nate), and his paternal grandmother Ethel Linda Jack. He will also be greatly missed by his Aunts and Uncles: Russell Jack (Debra), Stanford Thomas (Andrea), Oliver (Paul) Reynolds, Ian Reynolds, Conroy (Dave) Reynolds, Jo-Ann Blenman (Whitfield), Cherry-Ann Jack, Jacqueline Reynolds, Joan Smith, Janette Jenkins (Andrew), and Yvonne Campbell (Albert). Peter is survived by nieces and nephews: Jazlyn Jack, Josephine Jack, Lillee Jack, Janae Reid, Jaelynn Reid, Joanna Reid, Ethan Kelly and Knight Kelly, as well as several cousins and a host of his church family and friends who mourn his loss.
