Maxine Moore May 5th, 1934 - July 27th, 2025 Maxine Moore, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, educator, and matriarch, passed away peacefully on July 27th 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Maxine later made New York her home, where she built an extraordinary life rooted in service, leadership, and love. A fierce and passionate educator, she dedicated her career to uplifting young minds. She launched a local school newspaper, The Eagle, and was relentless in promoting early childhood reading programs. Maxine’s expertise extended beyond the classroom when she became a Contract Specialist for the City of New York, bringing the same focus, excellence, and care to her work in public service. She later continued her service in education by helping students and special needs children at Robinswood Middle School in Orange County School District as an Assistant Teacher, where she touched hundreds of lives. Through her tireless efforts, she transformed the lives of countless children - instilling in them a love of learning, literacy, and self-worth. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 40 years, Herbert Moore. Together, they raised two daughters, Karla Robinson and Kim Scott, who carry forward her legacy of wisdom, strength, and grace. She was the proud grandmother of Matthew John Clements, Devin David Scott, and the cherished great-grandmother of Malia Marie Clements and her brother, Cameron John Clements.. Their mother, Jeralyn Clements, Esq., also held a special place in Maxine’s heart, as well as our family friend, Kermit (Skeeter) Jorgensen. Maxine is survived by her loving sisters, Pamela Fitzgerald and Dr. Bernice Singleton Hart, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who adored and respected her. She taught the world to move through life with respect and dignity, and she was always there - a steady source of generosity, courage, and truth. The epitome of a family matriarch, Maxine Moore’s spirit will continue to guide all who knew her. We will move on with dignity until we meet again. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday August 6, 2025 when the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday August 7, 2025 with a funeral service at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Osceola Memory Gardens St. Cloud Chapel, 2000 13th Street, St. Cloud, FL 34769.. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery In Bushnell, FL In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her honor - a fitting tribute to a woman who gave so much to so many.
