Maryanne Agnes Miller

Maryanne Agnes Kissel Miller, 89, passed away on October 6th, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Orlando, Florida. She was born on November 20th, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John Michael Kissel and Agnes Kanai Kissel. Maryanne grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Mercer Joint Consolidated High School in Mercer, Pennsylvania in 1951. She attended the Seton Hill College in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. Maryanne began working for a local Greensburg junior high school in 1955 as a Home Economics Teacher, then married her sweetheart Arthur James Miller in 1956 and they remained happily married for 57 years. Maryanne volunteered for the St. Agnes Catholic School Library and worked for the Norwin Public Library until she retired in 1993. Maryanne lived in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania then moved to Kissimmee, FL and then Orlando, FL Maryanne was an avid reader of Non-Fiction Books, she enjoyed nature and its beauty, cooking her beloved ancestors Hungarian and Ukrainian recipes, and had a strong devotion to prayer and advocacy of Pro-Life. She also loved music and singing. Her soprano voice was stunning. Her greatest passion was her relationships with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life! Maryanne was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James Miller, her father John Michael Kissel and her mother, Agnes Kanai Kissel. Maryanne is survived by her children, Kathryn M. Perez, (husband Jose) of Orlando, FL, Arthur J. Miller, Jr., (wife Diana) of Findlay, OH, Karen M. Davis, (husband Brett) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Martha M.Hilty of New Holland, PA; grandchildren Phillip (wife Katherine) and Nicole, Suzanne (husband Roger) and Douglas, (wife Dawn), Christian and Samantha, and Cameron, as well as her great-grandchildren Nathaniel and Lucas. She is also survived by her siblings Andrea Hayes, Kenneth Kissel, Barbara Noa, Gregory Kissel, John Kissel, and Irene Little. Maryanne was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in North Huntingdon, PA. After moving to Florida, she was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Cloud, FL. A visitation will be held at Osceola Memory Gardens, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Rd. Kissimmee, FL 34744 on Wednesday, October 11 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 700 Brown Chapel Road, St. Cloud, FL 34769 at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12th. The family will be greeting friends and relatives immediately following mass at the St. Thomas Aquinas Social Hall.
