Mary Elizabeth Ann Svejda

Svejda, Mary Elizabeth Ann, passed away on April 19, 2010 at her home in Kissimmee, Florida. Born on April 30, 1927 to Daniel and Selma Hunter in Omaha, Nebraska, Mary Ann graduated from Technical High School in Omaha, Nebraska in June 1946. After graduation, Mary Ann worked for Standard Oil Company in Omaha for several years. Mary Ann married Frank Svejda on September 5, 1951. Frank and Mary Ann farmed near Modale, Iowa for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Daniel C. Hunter. Survivors include her brother-in-law, Alan Svejda of Richardson, Texas and her children, Paul Svejda of Kissimmee, Florida; Fred Svejda and wife Tatyana and their son Jacob of Brandon, Florida; Terry Svejda and his sons Seth and Adam of Blair, Nebraska; Mark Svejda and wife Eva and their sons Sean, Max and Sam of Scottsdale, Arizona; Frank Svejda and wife Renee and their sons Joshua and Jared of Melbourne, Florida; and Sharon Stout and husband Jay and their sons Ryan and Caleb of Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Mary Ann was a member of the Kissimmee Women?s Club from April 1990 and served in the capacity of Chaplain. She served on the Board of Directors of County Cove Villas Homeowner?s Association since 2002 and was Secretary/Treasurer since 2005. Mary Ann enjoyed painting and lending a helping hand to others in need. She also enjoyed traveling, having had the opportunity to travel to the Canary Islands and cruising through the Panama Canal. Mary Ann?s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, children, relatives and friends. A service in celebration of her life will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, Florida 34744 on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and a reception for family and friends will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Give Kids the World, 210 South Bass Road, Kissimmee, Florida 34746 (online at www.gktw.org) or the United Methodist Church in Modale, Iowa.
