Margaret A. Carpenter

Margaret Anne Carpenter, age 80, passed away on October 23, 2024. She was born in Sumner, Mississippi and was the beloved daughter of Arnie and Vaudie Sandifer of Cleveland, Mississippi. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Margaret dedicated her life to her family and faith. She was baptized in the Baptist faith and remained committed to her spiritual beliefs throughout her life. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years (Larry); her son, Charles; her three grandchildren, Jack, Amber, Charles Jr.; and three great grandchildren, Jordan, Abbie and Waylon. She is also survived by two loving sisters, Linda Black and Sandra Winters. A Eulogy for Anne Carpenter by Peter Mason I have known Anne Carpenter and Charlie, her son, over fifty years since the early seventies by way of Christian fellowship at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kissimmee. Years later working with Larry Carpenter and Anne at Sun Trust Bank, I was able to be part of witnessing their wonderful marriage and partnership throughout the 40 years that we have shared in our close friendship. We even took several trips together including a trip to San Francisco with parts of Oregon and years later to the states of Pennsylvania and New York, including Canada to see the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. We had quite a few hilarious experiences on those trip that we have laughed about and shared many times throughout the years. Asked me later and I will tell you some of these stories. Anne helped guide me to come to the Lord and see that my universal thinking at the time was somewhat on the border of being a little misdirected and somewhat fiendish in nature, meeting and marrying a good woman like my wife Kiana would set me straight. During my single years, Anne made sure that I was always invited to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas meals with her and Larry. Anne helped a lot with my wedding even so that a couple days before the event, I let my sister and her family stay at my place while Anne made arrangements for my brother and I to sleep over at her place. Anne and Larry have spent a long time together as close and as good as a loving Christian couple could be. Over the forty years I have known them, they never talked bad about or to each other. They shared their life with a wonderful family of children and grandchildren and many wonderful loving friends who are followers of Christ. Anne was such a good wife to Larry that he became very devoted to Anne over the years. He was so devoted that when Anne was in Hospice care for the last two years, Larry would ride his scooter every day on the streets of St. Cloud to be with her no matter how hot, cold, good or bad the weather was. I know that Anne is a true believer and follower of Christ, and I know that she will be waiting at the gates of heaven to greet us.
