Maizie A. Parrott

. Maizie A. Parrott Passed away Monday February 16, 2015. She was born Maizie A. Tyson, on February 23rd, 1927 to the late Robert and Florence (Paris) Tyson, in Manhattan, New York. Maizie was the second of their three children, and their only daughter. Maizie attended high school in New York City where she received her high school diploma in June of 1945. During her time in high school she went to work for a nail factory in Manhattan, placing nail heads on nails. She often related stories about how she was able to help her family financially by working while attending school during the post-depression era. Possessed of a curious and analytical mind and a love for math, she quickly developed skills that would serve her well throughout her entire life. She later went to work for the City Of New York as a Social Worker, until her retirement in 1982. After completing high school she met and married Clarence Parrott, her lifelong companion of 65 years, on April, 15th of 1949. They made the Bronx New York their home and together bore two sons, Robert Parrott and Ronald Parrott. Maizie was a faithful member of Bronx Bethany Church, in the Bronx New York, where she attended for many years, playing both the piano and organ for her church family. She remained a member, visiting at least once yearly and paying her tithes regularly, even after relocating to Poinciana, Florida in 1989. After searching for some time, she found a wonderful church home at First Baptist Church of Poinciana. She became a member, attending services regularly until her recent illnesses prevented her from doing so. Maizie Parrott was an amazingly loving, patient, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grand mother, Aunt, and Friend. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Her heart was bigger than life itself….And so, in the early hour of the morning of Monday, February 16th, 2015, God decided he needed another angel and called Maizie home. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Tyson, Sr. and Clement Tyson, Sr., and her son Robert Parrott. We are blessed with precious memories of her and will miss her dearly. She left behind to celebrate her life, her husband Clarence, son Ronald, daughter-in-law Joan, grandchildren, Ronald Jr., Jannae, Darrell Scott, three great grand-children, Deja, Saniya and Casol, and nieces, Cheryl Tyson-Summerville, Cassandra Smalls, Carole Yates, Janice L. Tyson, Dr. Carolyn Tyson-Klyvert, nephews, Clement Tyson Jr. and James Tyson Jr., Quintin Hatwood, and Theordore Hatwood, cousins, friends and extended family members.
