Lloyde Wentworth Lowe

The Reverend Lloyde W. Lowe, age 98, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord at a nursing home in Bradenton, FL, where he had been cared for in recent years. He was born in Hillsboro, N.B., Canada, and was raised in Moncton, N.B. He was the son of George and Nina Lowe and had 4 sisters (Alice, Muriel, Myrtle and Shirley) and 5 brothers (Wendell, Alex, Osborne, Kenneth and George), all of whom predeceased him (as far as the person submitting this is aware). In his pre-adult years he was a member of Highfield Baptist Church in Moncton. He graduated from Gordon College (A.B. in Theology) and Gordon Divinity School (B. Divinity), became an American citizen, and married Mildred E. Dodge of Medford, MA in 1945. They had no children, but devoted their full energies to serving the Lord, first pastoring the West Bridgewater Baptist Church in Massachusetts and then serving as missionaries to Brasil with the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society (now named WorldVenture) for 32 years. After their retirement they continued their life of dedication by serving as nursing home visitors for 13 years with the Community Chaplain Service in southern Massachusetts. They spent their final years in Florida at retirement communities in Kissimmee (Good Samaritan Village) and Bradenton (Bradenton Missionary Village). Mildred died in 2013, but by that time Lloyde was in a comatose condition and was unaware of her passing. He continued in that state for another 3 years until he finally was released from the bounds of this earth and was reunited with "Millie" and the lord whom they served faithfully wherever He called them. Music was a great part of their ministry, with Lloyde singing in choirs or leading singing in church with "Millie" accompanying on the piano. Lloyde's earthly remains will be in a crypt next to Millie's at Osceola Memory Gardens, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL l 34744. Many of the people whose lives they touched have gone on before them, but this is submitted in hopes that there may be some who will remember them and would want to know of their passing.
