John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. In peace surrounded by loved ones, our father, Leslie “Earl” King, made his way home on September 5, 2022. Gathered to his preceded family and friends, in the presence of our everlasting Father, welcomed home as an heir and adopted son of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a husband of 69 years to our loving mother, Evelyn M. King. He was a father and dad to Mary Pritchard (Alan), Denise Grimes (Bill), Jeffery King (Melissa), Mathew King (Pam), Paul King (Debbie), and Amy Andrews (Dan). Dad had 13 grandchildren: Vanesa, Kelli, Philip, Kenny, David, Christina, Alan, Amber, James, Katie, Peter, Lexy, and Maddie. He also had 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his children, daughter Mary and son Jeffery, his parents Charles Leslie and Racheal King, sisters Joan Antaya, Eloise Marshall, Elaine Noyce. Our Dad’s loss was always overcome by his faith in a God who works all things out in love. He lived life large. Working as a young man and father at A/C Sparkplug-General Motors in Flint Michigan, he followed his parents to Kissimmee, Florida in 1972 to operate and co-own the King’s Motel. His real passion though was construction. He was a General Contractor by trade, and he built several homes in the Central Florida area, including having a hand in all the homes of his children. He loved to work outdoors alongside others. It was very common to see Dad in blue jeans, a ball cap, and behind the wheel of a truck or tractor- surrounded by two or three others working shoulder to shoulder. Dad simply loved people, and he loved his family fiercely. He was a member of First Baptist Church Kissimmee, where he occasionally taught Sunday School. Later in life, he attended New Hope Bible Church in Kissimmee. Dad walked his Christian faith. He loved the awesomeness of God and spoke frequently about God’s grace and love. One of his favorite songs was Jesus Loves Me. Services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home Kissimmee, Florida. The viewing will be 10:30-11:30 with the service starting at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Earl King’s memory to New Hope Bible Church in Kissimmee, Florida. We will miss our dad but know one day we will go as he did and be gathered along with him to our friends and family. “Let the circle be unbroken.” We will see you later Dad. We love you.
