Lawrence (Larry) Thomas Robinson

Lawrence (Larry) Thomas Robinson, 77, St. Cloud, Florida, passed away on January 14, 2021 due to Covid complications. Larry was born in Ogdensburg, N.Y. on April 30, 1943 to the late Arthur V. and Ruth E. (Newcombe) Robinson. Larry graduated from Lisbon Central School in 1962 and went on to graduate from Ogdensburg Business School. On Juily 27, 1963 he married Gloria Ann Link and together they had three children. After 38 years of marriage, Gloria tragically passed away in a car accident in February 2001. Larry was employed at various occupations during his lifetime. The most recent being a Therapy Aide at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg, N.Y. retiring in 1999 after 34 years. Larry was a former firefighter, Town Justice of the Peace, President of the Civil Service Union at the Psychiatric Center. His hobbies were antique cars. He enjoyed driving his 1966 El Camino to car shows winning numerous prizes . He loved watching westerns on TV, especially John Wayne movies. He loved collecting knives. Following retirement he relocated to Charlotte, N.C. and partnered with his son, Cory, in the used car business. He then relocated to St. Cloud, FL. In June of 2014 he met and married Kathryn Lemon. They have enjoyed going on several cruises and going to car shows and just being together. Larry is survived by his wife, Kathryn(Kay), sons, Lawrence (Tom) (Shammie) Robinson of Hermon, NY and Gregory Robinson of St. Cloud, FL Stepsons, Keith Mayo(Terri) of Coral Springs, FL, Jeff Mayo (Dottie) of Peach Tree City, GA., grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Mallory, Caleb and Ryan Robinson, also 3 great grandchildren, Gavin Tyo, Gianna Tyo and Christopher Dobbs, all in NY. He is also survived by 4 brothers, Terry (CoraLee) Robinson, A James (Linda) Robinson, both of Lisbon, NY, Danny (Darlene) Robinson of Forsyth, GA. ,Kent (LouAnn) Robinson of Mt. Holly, N.J., 1 sister, Margaret(PegLeg to Larry) (Daniel) Akins, St. Cloud, FL., Stepgrandsons, Coby, Joey, Michael and KJ Mayo of Coral Springs, FL., several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends. Larry was predeceased by a son, Cory, a sister, Cathy, parents and grandparents. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the care of Osceola Memory Gardens, St. Cloud, Fl. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for any memorial contributions to be made to Christian Life Church, 2750 Partin Settlement Road, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
