Lawrence Raymond Brockman

Lawrence Raymond Brockman passed away peacefully at his home after a long, hard fought battle on January 28, 2024, with family by his side. He was 56 years of age. Born April 8th, 1967 in Hamilton, Ohio to Margaret and Joseph Brockman, Larry was the youngest of three siblings and lived an adventurous and free spirited life. As a kid, his time was well spent driving his sisters crazy, swimming in the rock pit, taking apart his bicycle and putting it back together again, playing football, and camping on KOA campgrounds where he would paddleboat on the water. He was a fun, ambitious, jokester of a kid that everyone loved to be around. Throughout his adult life, he spent a lot of his time fishing and immersing himself in the world of video games. He called Florida and Ohio his home. His favorite job was a heavy equipment operator, and he was a master at understanding the ins and outs of computers. He was uniquely gifted with words and all animals, no matter tame or wild, immediately trusted and loved him. A skill that he inherited from his father, he was blessed with the gift of gab and making a friend in anyone he met and holding those true friends as close to him as family. He was skillful at making someone feel like the most important person in the world. His wild stories of the opportunities he seized would always leave you wanting to hear more. He chose to indulge in a life filled with happiness, excitement, and new opportunities. He was a grounded man and unapologetically himself to his very last breath. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Willis Brockman (1993), his paternal grandparents, including his namesake, Lawrence Raymond Brockman and Ruth Oaks, and his maternal grandparents, Bernard F. Niemeyer and Mary B. Niemeyer. Larry will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends and we choose to remember how strong of a man he was throughout all his hardships. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Ida Brockman and his two sisters Beverly Brockman and Joanna Edwards (Vince). He leaves behind four loving nieces; Laura Neltner (AJ), Kasandra Dobbe (Jake) and her two children Aliyah and Ryan, Ashley Chaponis (Anthony) and her son Anthony (Bubba), and Kelsea Edwards. He also leaves behind the many friends he has so passionately considered family from a young age. Family and friends are welcome to attend Larry’s services. His burial will take place at Osceola Memory Gardens (Kissimmee, FL) on Friday, February 2nd at 2pm followed by a celebration of life the next day at Canoe Creek Christian Church (St. Cloud, FL) on February 3rd at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, our family requests you send donations to Canoe Creek Christian Church. The family deeply appreciates the support of friends and family through this difficult time. “Go rest high on that mountain,” where your suffering has now come to an end and peace will finally reign.
