Joyce J. Alderman

Joyce Jane Alderman December 4, 1941 – August 24, 2018 Joyce, Mom, Nana was a wonderful woman that was loved, will always be missed and will be forever cherished. Let the name that you called her Joy, Joyce, Sister, Aunt, Nana or Mom bring happiness and peace to your heart; celebrate her incredible life, which is what she truly wanted. Joyce was born December 4th 1941, the youngest child to Luther and Annabell Vaughn. A true native Floridian who proudly graduated from Edgewater High School class of 1960. A celebration of life is what Joyce would want and deserves as she found the good in everyone and everything. Joyce was blessed with two beautiful children, a son Kelly V. Pulliam and a daughter Lori P. Gilbert. Later in life Joyce would take on a new name, “Nana”, which she loved being called and was blessed with two grandchildren, Austin B. Gilbert and Alexis V. Gilbert. Joyce was no stranger to hard work as she was known to hold two jobs at once, Publix and Jai Lai, but she loved to work and was herself a hard worker. Many times she would remind the younger generation that you must work hard and that nothing comes easy. Her true calling was working at Lake Silver Elementary School which she enjoyed many happy years educating children and making lifelong friends along the way. Joyce could consider herself well traveled, seeing vacationing in such amazing locations as the Bahamas’, St. Lucia and St. Croix just to name a few. She loved to cruise the oceans and have her feet in the sand as much as possible. Joyce is now with her true soul mate Roger E. Alderman and will be watching over all of those who she held near and dear to her heart. Joyce believed in God, Jesus Christ, and heaven and knows that we all will be together again. Loved ones that will be missing her include: Calvin Alderman her fur companion, Barbara A. Moore, sister, Kelly V. Pulliam, son, Lori P. Gilbert daughter, Andrew B. Gilbert, son in law, Austin B. Gilbert, grandson, Veronica L. Gilbert, granddaughter in law, Alexis Vaughn Gilbert, granddaughter, Bradley S. Fontaine, soon to be grandson in law, Kim M Brandt, niece, Gary Brandt, nephew, Kendall G. Brandt, great niece and Sierra Girrama. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday September 1st, 2018 at 1pm at the Fairview Vista Point Club House, 4105 Fairview Vista Point, Orlando 32804. In lieu of sending flowers please make a donation in her name to Hospice of the Comforters.
