Jose M. Chacon Jr. 67, of Kissimmee, FL has entered the eternal rest found in the arms of our loving God. He passed on to heaven on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the home of his caring mother and surrounded by his love ones. Born December 8, 1952, in New York, New York, son of Providencia Chacon and the late Jose M. Chacon Sr., who proceeded his son in the journey to heaven, by one earthly year, ready to welcome his son into the kingdom of the heavenly Father. Jose, affectionately known as Pepe, was raised in the projects of NYC until his parents purchased a home in Long Island prior to the start of his high school years. He was the middle son of three boys, until a year after the move to Long Island, the family welcomed his sister, Jocelyn, who Pepe named Jocey and lovingly nurtured, spending many special times together. At Brentwood High School, Jose was active in sports, playing football, yet where he shined was on the Lacrosse field, leading to championships earning him a sports scholarship to CW Post in Brookville, New York. Aside from sports, Pepe enjoyed music and nature. He was afforded the opportunity to have new adventures including a trip to Africa, sailing his little ‘Mayflower’, and camping. On May 25, 1991, Jose married Rhonda Maria Arroyo and his dear and only son, Daniel David Chacon, was born September 2, 1992. Jose was known as a man of compassion, always ready to jump in and help anyone. He was often heard saying, “I got it. I got it.” as he strove to serve others. Jose made his move from Long Island, New York to Kissimmee, Florida in 2005, with his beloved wife and son, Rhonda and Daniel. Jose was motivated to make a new start, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of working and driving in the “Big Apple” and was driven to make a career move, jumping through the hoops and taking necessary classes to become a teacher of special needs students. Working as a teacher in both Osceola County School District and at the Academy of Autism brought a renewed joy to Mr. C, as he was known by his students and staff. In a turn of events in 2014, Jose was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that spread to his brain. He was given only 4 months to live at that time. However, God’s timing is not ma¬¬¬¬n’s timing and he survived years that allowed him to know his dear grandson’s, Abel Ray and Josiah David Chacon. Jose is survived by his 92 year old mother, Providencia Chacon, of Kissimmee, FL; wife, Rhonda Maria Chacon, of Kissimmee, FL; son and grandsons, Daniel David, Abel Ray, and Josiah David Chacon, of Kissimmee, FL; brothers, Jose Ramon (Sandra) Torres of Brentwood, NY, Juan Jose (Jackie) Chacon of Lake Wales, FL; and sister, Jocelyn Annabel (Freddy) Gomez of Kissimmee, FL. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 29, 2020 at five o'clock pm to seven o'clock pm. A service and time of sharing will be conducted at seven o'clock pm all in the funeral home chapel. A final farewell and prayer time will be held on Friday October 30, 2020 at twelve o'clock pm to two o’clock pm also at the Osceola Memorial Gardens Funeral home in Kissimmee. Interment will follow the journey to the burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road Gotha, Fl 34734.
