Jean Vickery

Elva Jean Vickery passed away on May 11th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family she was so very proud of. Jean was born on August 2, 1936 in Lakeland, Florida. Jean grew up in Wauchula, Florida but moved to Kissimmee in 1961 until she reunited with her childhood sweetheart Wilbur Vickery and moved back to Wauchula in 1990. After the passing of her husband she moved to St Cloud in 2016. She was a member of Faith Builders Community Church of St Cloud. Jean retired in 2004 after 30 years from Walt Disney World Company, where she worked in Security Dispatch. Her love of all things Disney was passed down to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Edna Bowers, husband Wilbur Vickery 1 sister, 3 brothers, 1 stepson & 2 grandchildren. She is survived by her son David Williams wife Jennifer of Inverness, daughter Cathy Hiers husband David of St Cloud, stepson John Long Jr, wife Tina of Ft Myers, stepdaughter Helen “Scotty” Vickery, stepson Randy Vickery, wife Rose, stepson Lester Vickery, wife Jama all of Wauchula. sister Evelyn Kittridge of Seattle WA, Becky Richardson of Bushnell, FL; Jean dearly loved her 13 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. Jean will be remembered as the matriarch of our family and loved nothing more than spending time spoiling all of them. Her greatest pride was her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they had many terms of endearment for their Nana, such as Nana Claus, Nana Banana and Jeannie Weenie. Jean became Nana to all who met her. You could only call her Elva if you were trying to get her attention or get her goat. Jean is very loved and will be very much missed. Her loss will be felt immensely in our family. We know the love, guidance and knowledge she taught all of us will continue to guide us as we learn to navigate in a world without her. Services will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, May 15th, at Faith Builders Community Church located at 2050 Old Hickory Tree Rd. Saint Cloud, FL 34772. The family would like to invite you to stay after the Memorial Service for food, fellowship and sharing your favorite memories with our Mom.
