Janice Trierweiler

Janice Diane Kaszycki Trierweiler was born on July 31, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. On December 25, 2024 she finished her earthly race and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom she loved and longed for. She was raised in Rockford, Illinois by her loving and nurturing parents, Henry Karol Kaszycki and Sophie Alexandra Kowalski Kaszycki. They instilled in her and her brother Jan a great love, respect and pride in their rich Polish heritage by preserving the language, culture and rich traditions of their own upbringing. Christmas Eve traditions were especially memorable. During her lifetime Janice had the privilege of traveling to Poland on six different occasions. When she was 7 years old, Janice’s parents gave her the choice between being in Brownies or taking piano lessons. She chose the piano which was a decision that set the course for much of her life’s work. Janice graduated from Boylan Central Catholic High School in 1973, and Northern Illinois University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. She made the most pivotal decision of her life during her freshman year of college, when she surrendered her life to Jesus Christ by faith in response to His immeasurable love and grace. She became involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, now known as Cru. Through Cru she learned to study the Bible and apply it to her life, instilling in her a deep love for God and His Word. In 1979 she joined the staff of Cru, serving for the first 21 years in the Music Ministry in the Washington, DC area, southern California and Indianapolis. She experienced her dream job performing and traveling with music groups, using music as a platform to communicate the message of God’s love and forgiveness through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Her travels with the Music Ministry took her all over the U.S. and to Europe and Asia. She also worked with Cru’s City Ministry for 6 years, and at the World Headquarters for 15 years. In 2001 she married the love of her life Bob Trierweiler in Indianapolis, Indiana, proving that God’s best is always worth the wait. In 2005 Bob joined her as a staff member with Cru and in 2006 they moved to Orlando, Florida where they served at the World Headquarters. While at the headquarters Janice had the incredible privilege of working with then President Steve Douglass, helping to manage his relationships with the organization’s top donors. Steve was a man of utmost integrity, brilliant, humble, kind, gracious, godly, never anxious, and always encouraging. He was a true servant leader who was committed to helping his team members succeed. Bob and Janice retired from Cru in 2021, after 16 and 42 years, respectively. Their retirement years were filled with travel adventures and meaningful volunteer work. Janice particularly enjoyed playing the piano at Lake Nona Presbyterian Church, and helping out at Choices Women’s Clinic, an organization dedicated to providing medical care and numerous resources for mothers in pregnancies who choose life for their babies. Janice is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Trierweiler, her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Jan and Bozena Kaszycki, treasured nephews and nieces, Daniel Kaszycki, Caroline Kaszycki, Jeremy (Graciela) Kaszycki and Elizabeth Kaszycki, step- children Richard (Stephanie Reighert) Trierweiler and Annette (Jack Burdette) Trierweiler and 4 step-grandchildren.
