Jane A. Baldwin

Mrs. Jane A. Baldwin, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 26, 2010. Born August 22, 1923 in Dundalk, Maryland, Jane was the daughter of the late Albert and Thelma Hall. During World War II, Jane started out serving as a ?Rosie the Riveter? for the Glen L. Martin Company in Middle River, Maryland. She then served as an operator for the Maryland Bell Telephone Systems. After moving to Florida with her husband in 1958 she devoted most of her time to homemaking and raising her family. In 1969 she went to work for the Osceola County Public School System serving as a Secretary for Central Avenue Elementary School and Osceola High School. In 1987 she retired from the school system but her dedication to her work with both the administration and students she came in contact with is still remembered today. Jane enjoyed inviting people to her church Trinity Lutheran in Kissimmee where she was a Charter Member. Through the years she served as a Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher and volunteered many hours on various committees. Jane was truly an encouragement to not only people who knew her but to total strangers with whom she may have come in contact with. Jane was never afraid to lend words of support or donations of food or money to those in need. Her quiet way of helping others seemed to come naturally to her life; she even found ways to make donations to local charities and organizations. Jane enjoyed playing the piano, aerobics classes, bird watching and gardening; she especially enjoyed bringing a sick plant back to life. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by brothers Albert and Joey Hall and a sister Beatrice Aires. Jane?s family will always remember her by many titles priceless is the love and care she devoted to her family through the years. She loved her grandchildren as she let them refer to her as ?Nana? ?Honey? and ?MomMom?. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Jane is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dean Baldwin; daughters, Cindy Yates and husband, Randy of Winter Haven and Heather Johnston and husband, David of Kissimmee; grandchildren, Brian Yates and wife, Samantha and Brooke Yates of Winter Haven, Johnathan Johnston and Jenna Johnston of Kissimmee; and a great-grandson, William Carter Yates of Winter Haven; sisters, Thelma Kessler of Maryland and Elsie Cooley of Alaska. A Memorial Service Celebrating Jane?s Life will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday, May 1, 2010 in the Chapel of Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Kissimmee. Her personal friend and pastor to her family through the years Rev. Peter J. Zieg, will officiate at the service.
