Hazel G. Fitz

Hazel Geneva Fitz age 93 of St. Cloud, Florida went to be with Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Mrs. Fitz was born on December 16, 1917 in Wyndotte, (Ottawa County) Oklahoma, she was the fourth child of the late William (Willie) Jasper and Verna Lou (Back) Parks. As a young girl, she grew up on a farm in Oklahoma near an Indian Reservation where she socialized with some of the native children. In her teen years, Hazel and her older brother moved to West Carrollton, Ohio staying with an aunt and uncle. Afterwards, she stayed with good friends, and finally a place of her own after accepting employment with the American Envelope Company. Three years later she married Roy Edwin Fitz on February13, 1937 and together celebrated 60 years of marriage until his death in 1997. Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, and became very involved with numerous women groups and events affiliated with each church she attended. She is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, and two sisters and loving husband. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Roy Arvin and Judith Ann Fitz: Roger Dale and Becky Ann Fitz all of St. Cloud, Florida, her grandson and wife: Roy William and Stella Fitz of St. Cloud, Fl., and her granddaughter and husband: Sharon Lynn and Colonel Barry Gaertner and great-grandchildren: Blake Allyn, Kristen Elyse, and Lindsay Rae, of Valrico (Tampa, Fl.) Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 5 PM at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2000 13th Street, St. Cloud, Florida with Pastor Philip Singh officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 PM on Saturday at the funeral home in St. Cloud. Additional Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 01, 2011 at Swart Funeral Home 207 East Central Avenue, West Carrollton, Ohio with Pastor John Swint officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to Noon on Saturday at the funeral home in West Carrollton, Ohio. Interment will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, Ohio.
