Rev Harold C. Epperson

Harold Coleman Epperson, Sr. Harold was born in Winchester, Kentucky on April 23, 1932. He went home to be with the Lord in Kissimmee, Florida on May 12, 2020. Harold graduated from Eustis High School, 1950. He graduated from Stetson University, 1954, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1959, receiving his Bachelor of Divinity and Master of Religious Education degrees. Pastor Epperson served three churches full-time from 1959-1994: Walnut Street Baptist Church, Orlando, FL (1959-1966); Southside Baptist Church, Sarasota, FL (1966-1975); and First Baptist Church, Kissimmee, FL (1975-1994). He also had the privilege of preaching revivals in at least 35 different churches in Florida, Illinois, Maryland, and South Carolina. Harold was honored with the title Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church, Kissimmee, on August 19, 2007. Following his retirement he served as an Interim Pastor for 5 different churches throughout Central Florida. Harold enjoyed traveling during his younger years, especially through serving as a trustee with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He was a faithful and loving husband for nearly 61 years. He dearly loved his three sons, faithfully bringing them up in the instruction and discipline of the Lord. Harold loved people and loved to be around people. He always had a kind word for everyone and had a genuine pastor’s heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Marcus Epperson, mother, Mary Epperson, sister, Peggy Epperson, and grandson Riley Epperson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Epperson; three sons, Mark (Donna) Epperson, Mike Epperson, and Hal (Melissa) Epperson; grandchildren Taryn Epperson, Trey (Candace) Epperson, Tyler Epperson; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Riley Mae. The family will receive friends on Saturday May 16, 2020 from 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral service beginning at 10:00 am at The First Baptist Church Of Kissimmee with Pastor Tim Wilder officiating. A private interment will follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life in Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Kissimmee.
