Gene Lacson Ignacio

Gene Lacson Ignacio passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at the age of 77. A proud Filipino American and longtime resident of Orlando, Florida, he is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Elisa. A retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief, Gene dedicated 22 years of honorable service to his country, having served in the Vietnam War. In addition to his military service, Gene also retired from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the U.S. Postal Service, where he continued to serve his community with dedication and commitment. He was also a deeply committed and active Freemason, having served as Worshipful Master-a role that reflected his dedication to leadership, fellowship, and service within the Masonic community. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his children: his eldest son Earl, his middle daughter Chris and her husband Cyron, and his youngest daughter Lynn and her husband Drew. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Gaige and Grace, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by three sisters; Ruth Flatley (husband Joseph), Ruby Ignacio, and Fe Amor Valdez (husband Felix) all of Miami Beach, FL; five brothers, Rene Ignacio (wife Laarne) of Milpitas, CA, Adonis Ignacio (wife Annabelle) of Jacksonville, FL, Dante Ignacio (wife Ellen) of Waipahu, HI, Rudy Ignacio (wife Rhoda) of Jacksonville, FL and Noel Lito Ignacio (wife Lolita) of Jersey City, NJ. who were all an important part of his life, and will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He found peace in fishing with his brothers, and in his younger years, he could often be found on the tennis court or at the bowling alley, enjoying the thrill of the game and the company of friends. An avid golfer, Gene enjoyed teaching the game to Gaige, sharing both skills and cherished moments on the green. He especially loved riding bikes with Gaige and Grace, creating memories that will be forever treasured. Gene will be remembered for his strength, warmth, and devotion to family, friends, and community. His steady presence, quiet wisdom, and deep love for those around him will be missed beyond measure. He was preceded in death by Mother, Virginia Ignacio, Father, Eugenio Ignacio. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 2000 13th Street in St. Cloud, FL.
