Dr. Frank James Murray Jr.

Dr. Frank James Murray, a beloved dentist and dedicated Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, at the age of 78. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 8, 1946 in Queens, NY, Frank was the eldest of three children. He graduated from Miami Senior High School, Miami, FL. After serving in the Air Force and earning the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam era, he attended the University of Texas, El Paso, and then was awarded the Navy Dental Scholarship earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University. He was stationed at the Naval Recruit Training Center in Orlando, Florida and retired to private practice with the rank of Lieutenant. His military service instilled in him a sense of duty, discipline and a deep love for his country. He was passionate about his profession devoting over 40 years to providing quality care to his patents in a then, underserved county. He brought in every specialist of dentistry to the practice, a new dynamic in the field. He was voted best dentist in Osceola County numerous times and was proud to earn his Masters in General Dentistry. Frank was also known for his design and development of new practices where he mentored recent dental grads sharing his knowledge and expertise. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Frank was a devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna E. Melchiona Murray and his father, Francis J. Murray. He leaves behind his brothers, Patrick and Joseph Murray; his former wife and mother of his children, Mimi Fauquier; his four children, Melissa Stephenson, Dr. Craig Murray, Anne Elisa Murray, and Dr. Tony Murray; and four grandchildren who bought him immense joy, Seth Stephenson, Baron Murray, Asher Murray, and Lily Murray. He was a proud father and grandfather, always attending their events and cheering them on from the sidelines. Frank loved his family more than anything in the world. His emotions were real and he showed his love unconditionally. Frank had a passion for life that extended beyond dentistry. He was an avid sports fan, ballroom dancer, billiard player, biker, horsemen, art collector, investor, and lifelong learner. He enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood experiences and successes of his long-term friends. Frank's legacy of kindness, service, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered. A committal service with military honors will be held on March 7, 2025, at 9:30 am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, followed by a private reception to celebrate Frank's life.
