Frances Janssen

Frances Hope Janssen 94 of Kissimmee, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Oaks of Kissimmee Nursing Home.Known to everyone as Hope, she was born December 13, 1918 in Beloit, WI to David Wilkes Stanton and Frances Ruth (Elliott) Stanton. She graduated for Rockford Jr. High School in 8th grade.Hope married Fred Theodore Janssen in Iowa City, IA on July 22, 1939. From this union three children were born; Maureen, David and Penny. Many years later she married Richard Lund when Matthew Lund became her fourth child while living in Chicago, IL. Throughout Hope’s life, she enjoyed being a coot at various small restaurants in Illinois, Rockford, Loves Park and Chicago. Before retiring, she was employed by Signode Corp as one of their more popular cooks. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with. Her favorite leisure activities include reading, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. In 1970 Hope and Matt joined the LDS Church where was an active member teaching Sunday school, President of Relief Society and held other positions in the church which she dearly loved. Hope is survived by her children, Maureen (Geoff) Ziemann, David Janssen, Penny Kloepper, Matthew Lund; 4 grandchildren Mark (Alicia) Thompson, Christina (Jesse) Hernandez, Tammy (James) Graves, Tania DeKnight; 5 great grandchildren Kathryn, Susie, Angela, Daisy and Dakota. She was the sole survivor of her siblings, brother and sister, grandson Scott Thompson and recently daughter-in-law Donna Janssen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the LDS Church via Matthew Lund.. A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 16, 2013 from 5 to 8pm at the Osceola Memory Gardens Poinciana Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at The Pleasant Hill Ward LDS on John Young Parkway, Kissimmee, FL, at 10 am on Thursday, January 17th, 2013. Burial will be in the Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery located at 1717 Old Boggy Creek Rd.
