Evelyn King

Joining those who have gone before our mother, Evelyn M King left this temporary world and entered into eternity, on Saturday, February 8, 2025. She joined her husband, Leslie Earl King, her first born daughter, Mary Lynn Pritchard, and her first born son, Jeffery Earl King, along with countless friends and family members who proceeded them. Born in Flint, to Archie and Mary Severn, mom grew up in Mount Morris, Michigan. She met our father at a community social dance. They both loved to dance, but to socialize even more. They dated, married on November 8, 1952, build a small home in Genesee, Michigan and had six children. Mary Lynn Pritchard (deceased)(Alan) Denise Grimes (Bill), Jeffery Earl King (deceased)(Melissa), Mathew King(Pam) Paul King(Debbie) and Amy Andrews(Dan) Son in law, Paul Goodnight (Melissa). In 1972, Mom and Dad moved to Kissimmee, Florida where they co-owned and operated “King’s Motel”. Mom loved to learn new things, she was a hobbyist who enjoyed, painting, sewing, quilting, and ceramics. Her and Dad also loved traveling and camping. Mom and Dad had 13 grandchildren Vanesa Pritchard, Kelli Harmon, Phillip Pritchard, Kenny Grimes, David Grimes, Christina Weaver, Alan King, Amber Watkins, James King, Kathryn Kleinhans , Peter King, Lexy Andrews, and Maddie Andrews. She also had 16 great grandchildren. Our Mother lived out the importance of relationships and routinely sacrificed for her family and others. She organized and enjoyed “game nights” for decades, hosting annual celebrations and holiday gatherings.. She oftentimes would make quilts and crafts for others. She would also prepare dinners for recent births, deaths, or families with sickness. Our Mom’s love was demonstrated through her sacrifices. In the early 1960’s, our Aunt Elaine introduced our parents to Jim Campbell , from Mt. Morris Community Church. He was instrumental in their salvation experience, which forever sealed their eternity and changed the course of all of our lives. While she may be separated from us in this temporary life, we know she is eternally alive through the Word of God. “John 11: 25 (NIV) Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”” While we hate to see the end of this life chapter close, we know we will be reunited in Heaven one day.
