Edward Allwood Jr.

Edward Allwood, Jr. was born on November 2, 1928 in Kingston Jamaica, West Indies. He was the second (2nd) of seven children born to the union of Edward Allwood, Sr., deceased, and Violet Bartley Allwood, deceased. Edward departed this life to a peaceful rest on Monday, June 18, 2018. Edward came into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior, at an early age. As a child living in Jamaica, Edward actively attended church. Upon relocating to Brooklyn, New York and subsequently residing between Brooklyn, New York and Kissimmee, Florida, Edward continued his Christian journey. He would worship with local churches in his community in Brooklyn, and when he was in Florida Edward would join his family in worship at New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando, Inc. Edward was educated in the public school system in Kingston Jamaica, West Indies. Edward met the love of his life, Marjorie Ricketts. In November 1974, Edward was united in holy matrimony to Marjorie. He is the father of eight (8) children: Noel (Wayne) Newton Allwood, deceased; Teasha Allwood; Keasha Allwood; Camella (Chrissy) Allwood; Troy Ricardo (Patrick) Allwood; Janet (Peggy) Allwood; Orrington (Steve) Allwood; and Mark Anthony Allwood. Edward loved and was devoted to his wife Marjorie and their eight children. He was very supportive, very caring, and always enjoyed being surrounded by his family. Edward was employed for 18 ½ years with Sheraton Hotels and Resorts. He diligently worked in Hotel Maintenance. As a second job, Edward also worked in construction. Edward enjoyed doing many things in life. He especially enjoyed competitive cycling when he lived in Jamaica. Edward loved sharing stories of his life in Jamaica, telling jokes to his family, whistling comforting melodies, traveling and spending his time living in Brooklyn, New York and Kissimmee, Florida. Edward leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Marjorie Allwood, seven (7) children, Teasha Allwood; Keasha Allwood; Camella (Chrissy) Allwood; Troy Ricardo (Patrick) Allwood; Janet (Peggy) Allwood; Orrington (Steve) Allwood; and Mark Anthony Allwood, 19 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister, four brothers, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and devoted friends. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Corinthians 5:1
